Feedback
Students
The whole class is provided with the opportunity to give feedback on each small group’s work.
The teacher may support students to give feedback by using focus questions, eg ‘What did
you like?’ or ‘What could the group have done differently?’
Teacher
The teacher monitors students during the learning experiences and assessment opportunities
through:
• observation
• discussion and questioning
• analysis of the students’ work samples.
The teacher provides specific feedback, such as:
Tier 1
• ‘Yes,
was
(in
There was once
) tells the story is set in the past.’
• expanding on the answer ‘Koala Klaws’ by saying ‘Koala Klaws lives next door.’
Tier 2
• ‘You said that Koala Lou was happy before her climb. How do you feel before a big race?’
• ‘I like the way the narrator’s voice changed to show how Koala Lou was feeling.’
Tier 3
• ‘You could add dialogue about what Koala Lou might do next time.’
• ‘I like the way the narrator summarised the main events.’
Evidence of learning
The teacher uses students’ work samples, anecdotal notes of observations, checklists of
indicators, and completed
to determine whether
students have made progress as a result of the learning experiences.
