Tier 3
Students are provided with a copy of
Koala Lou
.
As a group, they jointly develop a script for the resolution stage. Students write parts for Koala Lou, her mother
and a narrator. The narrator may be used to provide an introduction to the audience by summarising the orientation
and complication.
Students write dialogue for Koala Lou and her mother about the events leading to the resolution. The dialogue
focuses on the thoughts and feelings of Koala Lou and her mother through the story. Students may include the
direct speech from the resolution stage in their script.
The teacher provides students with discussion questions to assist them to reflect on the thoughts, feelings and
motivations of the main characters in each of the stages.
Students use voice and gesture to represent the characters and enhance meaning. They may detail this on their script.
Students practice performing the script to prepare for their presentation to the whole class.
