Graded Students Work Samples
Work Sample Assessment
Casey
Casey has communicated an extensive knowledge and understanding of forms and techniques to represent the subject matter of musical instruments, from different viewpoints, including lines, shapes, colours, patterns and textures. Casey has demonstrated a high level of competence in conveying meaning by using a range of drawing, painting and collage techniques. Casey has also taken risks in the composition of materials and displays mature ideas in the understanding of audiences. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 3.
Alex
Alex has communicated an extensive knowledge and understanding of forms and techniques to represent the subject matter of musical instruments. Alex has taken risks with line, patterns, shape, angles, colour and viewpoints and has demonstrated a very high level of competence in conveying meaning by using a range of drawing, painting and collage techniques. The material has been assembled with evidence of advanced spatial awareness. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 3.
Jordan
Jordan has demonstrated evidence of careful observation of a variety of musical instruments and a high level of competence in using techniques such as texture, tone and line. Jordan has made informed choices to represent the subject matter of musical instruments from different viewpoints including shapes, textures patterns and lines. There is a lack of integration of background and foreground, and the artwork could be enhanced by the use of colour. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard at the end of Stage 3.
Kerry
Kerry has made informed choices to represent the subject matter of a musical instrument using a variety of colours, patterns and lines. Kerry has demonstrated a high level of competence in using drawing and collage techniques. There is evidence of using the continuation of lines to create movement and flow through out the artwork. The viewer's attention is drawn away from the focal point and the composition lacks balance and connectedness. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard at the end of Stage 3.
Lee
Lee has communicated a sound knowledge and understanding of forms and techniques to represent the subject matter of musical instruments. Lee has demonstrated an adequate level of competence in drawing, painting and collage techniques. The material has been assembled with evidence of an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills. Disconnected elements have been used to fill the background, and the artwork lacks different perspectives. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 3.
