Sample work English K–10 Stage 4: Activity 4 – My story, your story
Description of activity
Students research the contribution of an Aboriginal person to Australian society and write an imaginative biographical or autobiographical narrative to be included in a collection of narratives based on the lives of First Australian Heroes.
Context
Students have explored Aboriginal narratives as part of the unit of work My Story, Your Story and have become aware of narrative as a key feature in the development of personal cultural identity.
