Step 4 - The accreditation decision

The content on this page has moved to a new location.

Why has it moved?

We are migrating our website content to a new location on the NSW Government website so it's easier for you to find and read content.

All teacher accreditation information is now available at nsw.gov.au/NESA.

From 20 March, this page will no longer exist, and you will be automatically redirected to the NSW Government website.

In this final step, NESA will make an accreditation decision.

NESA makes an accreditation decision

The final part of the process is the accreditation decision, which is made by NESA within 28 days of the principal’s recommendation. You will be notified of the accreditation decision by email.

Your first maintenance of accreditation begins

If NESA accredits you at Proficient Teacher, you will start your first maintenance period on the day the accreditation decision is made, and NESA will issue you a certificate.
