Cessation of accreditation
Provisionally or conditionally accredited teachers are given a date by which to achieve Proficient Teacher Accreditation. In the event of not achieving Proficient Teacher Accreditation by this date your accreditation will lapse and prevent you from teaching in a NSW school/service.
You may apply for a single, two-year period of re-accreditation.
A non-refundable re-accreditation fee applies.
Applications for re-accreditation are reviewed by NESA. Re-accreditation is only granted where you have demonstrated you have addressed the issues that previously prevented you from achieving Proficient Teacher Accreditation. Your commitment to the profession and likelihood of achieving Proficient Teacher Accreditation within the re-accreditation period, are also taken into account.
The decision to re-accredit is made in consultation with your previous employers, prospective employers and the Re-Accreditation Approval Committee (RAC) which meets four times each year. For more details on the process of re-accreditation, refer to the Policy for Ceasing the Provisional and Conditional Accreditation of Teachers and Conditions for a re-accreditation period.
If you are seeking to be re-accredited then download and complete the Application for Re-Accreditation Form (546 KB). You’ll need to download and use Adobe Acrobat to complete this PDF form. A free copy of Acrobat Reader is available from https://get.adobe.com/reader. Using other PDF software may result in you experiencing issues completing the form.
