NSW schools start transition to NAPLAN online - update

19 April 2017
Media release

Commonwealth, State and Territory education Ministers have agreed that the annual NAPLAN tests will move from pen and paper to online testing, with full participation by all Australian schools by 2019.

NSW schools will start their transition to NAPLAN Online later this year by participating in an online practice of the technology or a ‘readiness test’.

This readiness test will be held in August and September.

A final decision about when to transition to NAPLAN Online for NSW will be made after the August and September readiness test.

This transition timetable has been agreed by the three NSW school sectors and the NSW Education Standards Authority, who are planning together to ensure that the move to NAPLAN Online will be a success for all.
